Noordhoek Paddocks Farm is a patch of equestrian country heaven tucked between some of the most beautiful beaches, heart-stopping mountain tableaus, and quiet country lanes.

This peaceful, country breakaway does not take away from the very sophisticated and trendy little village of Noordhoek – a favourite to surfers, city slickers, and international visitors alike!

We are a little horse farm situated at the edge of the wetlands in Noordhoek, complete with horses, dogs, and plenty of green spaces framed by blue skies. Take a break from the hum of traffic and loud city noise and enjoy the peaceful sounds of country life - the occasional barking of a dog, cry of the Fish Eagle, hoot of resident owls, or perhaps just the neighing of horses and clatter of hooves…indeed, it is sometimes so quiet, that people return, merely to get a good night’s sleep.

THE LOOKOUT was created with a very special guest in mind - one who will appreciate what we have to offer, rather than the latest and trendiest hotel with Michelin star restaurants. They are seeking solace in nature, would like to sip coffee watching the mountains dip into crazy red hues as the horses below wicker their appreciation at their morning meal. They have had enough for a while of cars, meetings, bars, and even sophistication. They are looking for a place to exhale, to reconnect with self, to pat a horse, watch a weed growing, smell new earth, and sleep soundly.

However, we absolutely appreciate the need for modern comforts, and ensure continuous Wi-Fi, 100% cotton sheets, and Charlotte Rhys to make the bath times happy!

One bedroom with a double bed and mosquito net.
Mini kitchenette, designed for meals on the go. Boasting a Nespresso capsule coffee machine and milk frother, mini refrigerator, kettle, hot plate, and microwave.
The lounge area has a flat screen TV where you can enjoy watching your favourite shows on Netflix, you tube etc.
A balcony with achingly beautiful mountain views stretching across the paddocks of horses below where you can enjoy your morning coffee or early evening sundowners.
The bathroom is a special and unique spot, under low thatch, with an enormous bath, copper shower and double basins.
A swimming pool which is awesome in Summer for a dip after returning from the beach
Please note we have a strict fire insurance policy with our thatch and horses. Absolutely no candles nor smoking anywhere on the premises will be allowed.
Please also note that The Lookout is situated on the top floor and there is a walk up one flight of stairs.

I'm Mary-Anne and I have lived in and loved Noordhoek for 15 years. I bought Noordhoek Paddocks Farm with holiday accommodation fully in mind. I remember spending a couple of days on a beautiful farm-style property in Montagu, complete with Arab horses and eclectic country rustic style accommodation and thinking – this is what I really would love to provide for people who want to escape to a non-perfect, yet perfect country spot, where owls can be heard, wet earth can be inhaled, and the healing presence of horses can be felt.

Although the sheets are cotton, the Wi-Fi works, the little flatscreen tv provides a link to Netflix, and the bath goodies are Charlotte Rhys…THE LOOKOUT remains utterly rustic and home from home.

I have two grown up children and the most important role I have ever experienced is that of mom… and my animals – horses, dogs, and cat…who ground me and remind me to stay in the now. I enjoy fitness, and as well as horse riding, I lift weights, run and love little road trips.

Horses have an incredibly large electromagnetic field that is much larger than a human and are therefore wonderful healers and spiritual alchemists who can transmute and heal negative energy. You will find after spending time amongst our beautiful horses that a shift will happen - your heart will become more opened, and you will feel more uplifted!

Acapulco Gold - an ex thoroughbred racehorse, born in Argentina.

Dali XII - an Andalusian PRE, born in Barcelona.

Pilgrim - our rescued thoroughbred, bred to race and then left to die in the bush.

The rest of the herd are livery clients horses.

We do not offer horse riding, but you can arrange to hire a horse at The Dunes if you would like to ride on the beach, otherwise you are welcome to visit and interact with our horses on the farm, enjoying their healing presence.

Shop or have a meal at the Farm Village just up the road, or at one of the many restaurants in Noordhoek. If you want to venture a bit further there is the harbour in Simons Town or the eclectic Kalk Bay nearby where you can dine whilst taking in the beautiful ocean views
